GROWING BEGINS...

I bought this plant in May 2014. Growing has begun earlier this year around March or April. Some of the leaves might have endured from last years growing period. This is possible for this species.

Until nowadays I did not find any "big" and "grounding" information. All I can tell so far is that BOSWELLIA NANA grows on Sokotra island.
Two habitats are known. They cover an area of 20 km². BOSWELLIA NANA is growing at an altitude of 300 to 550 m only in limestone cliffs in a dry and semi-deciduous woodland.
There seems to grow at the bases before these cliffs a hybrid of B.NANA X B.SOCOTRANA - seems to be an assumption more than hard fact.
Some authors think B.NANA to be a form of B.POPOVIANA.

Culture...
As BOSWELLIA NANA grows in the lime cliffs in the mountains of Sokotra island...
So I made my standard mixture of LAVA, GRANIT and PUMICE as parts of 1:1:1. Also I added 10% LIME - not CHALK or GYPSUM - to the mixture. The upper cm are filled up with coarse lime gravel to make sure that water is pouring down very quickly.

I will treat it like all my plants from Madagaskar and Sokotra.
Give them all the sun that I can offer, the highest temperatures throughout the year and water once every 2 or 4 weeks and very thoroughly.
I will add fertilizer as I do it with all my plants. I use fertilizer with every watering and in a very very low concentration.

Time will tell...

And there is a book on the market...

I will tell you...
